Uncertain
Scared

Listening
to the voices
in my head

But they’re not mine
and although
they don’t matter

They matter

I love it
I hate it
It soothes me
It tortures me

I can’t live without it

Writing is like
broken glass

Dark
with sharp edges

Until the light shines through
proving there is hope
even in the darkest moments

It whispers in your ear

I am yours
and you are mine

Stop fighting it

Silence the noise

Quiet the critic

I can feel you breathe

Shivers up my spine
I gasp
then
sigh

It’s you

Your strength
when the wind
blows

Your power
when the rain
falls

Your roots
dig deep
into my soul

Grounding me
Comforting me
Empowering me

Energy rushing
through my veins

I’m beginning
to feel
alive
again

Life-giver
Oxygen supplier

Natures
shelter
protection
heart
and soul

Inhale
exhale
and again

I can feel you breathe

United we stand, Divided we fall

When did we become
so fractured?

When did judgement
become a trend
and kindness a rarity?

We are here to
share the colors
of our lives

Strengthen our bonds

Understand and acknowledge love

And be the peace
comfort
and sanctuary
somebody needs
today

We are not here
to steal the joy
others seek

to rob them of
a life of peace
and happiness

to suffocate
wound
or maim

to control
rule
or
lord over them

We are not here
to leave a legacy of hate

How did we become this?

There is kindness in the masses
Strength in the majority
and POWER IN LOVE!

United we stand
Divided we fall

We are capable of more!
We are worth more!
We must be more!

Fractured
        Broken
             Shattered

This isn’t how my story ends

Battling
        back

Fierce
     Determined

Feet on the ground
Eyes up!

Three steps forward
              life pulls you back
                               
Break away!

Focus forward
            keep walking!

The door is shut
you don’t live there anymore

I’ve got one
         life to live
                  
and I will live it
                as
                 I
                 choose!

A rebel with a
             very good reason!
                            
A warrior 
        on a mission!

You’re just another 
                mountain to climb

Sorry bitches!
You may pull me back
but you will never
keep me down!

it’s party time

But we know the truth

We know who’s valued
We know who’s not

A celebration
fireworks
parties
desserts

Yet so many
are deserted

How dare you say
we’re equal
when you strip
us naked
and leave us
to die

Your pen is a sword
Your vote is poison

Your hearts are cold
Your intentions are evil

Your daughters
will never forget

Neither will we!

being there

the courage
to walk through the fire
believing you’ll get
to the other side

Beautiful is
scars that tell stories
and survivors
willing to share them

Beautiful is
those who’ve walked
1 million painful steps
and wake up
each day
excited to
take another

Beautiful is
the struggles
the journeys
the broken roads
that lead you
home

Beautiful is
that moment
you accept
who
you
really
are

strength

A Mother fighting
for her children

You can’t silence
A woman with
a broken heart

You can’t stop
Me!

I will find hope
in the evil
of your eyes

I will find light
in the darkness
of your heart

I will find strength
in your threats

You fuel my fire
You feed my determination
You solidify my resolve

The sun will rise again
and when it does
the world will see

My strength
and your insecurities

My courage
and your cowardice

My compassion
and your hatred

Because in the end

No matter
how hard you try

You will
NEVER
break me!

You will
NEVER
hurt me
AGAIN!

And I will
NEVER
be like
YOU!
